Tussar Silk Saree

This is a silk produced in a region which is a home to a variety of plants and animals. It is the eastern states of India that grow the tussar silk which is highly valued silk, second only to silk produced in China. India tussar, which is known as kosa in Sanskrit literature, is the species that is found in the forests of eastern and central India. The unique fiber also makes it known as ‘wild silk’.
